The Levy County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Florida Forest Service partnered to celebrate Arbor Day with Chiefland Elementary School. John Keyton, senior forester; Greg Marshall, Levy County forester and Dana Langford, education coordinator, Levy County Soil and Water Conservation District, helped with the event.
The CES kindergarten students were addressed by Marshall who shared the history of the first Arbor Day celebrated on April 10, 1872, and its founder Sterling Morton.
