  • Bullying won’t be tolerated

Parents now have a new tool to safeguard their children against school bullies.

New bullying and harassment policy 5.38 was adopted by the Levy County School Board last week to conform to state requirements. The policy prohibits bullying and harassment and seeks to prevent an “intimidating, hostile or offensive educational environment.”

  • FFA teams grade Dixie soil

It was a day of tense observation at Oak Grove farm in Dixie County on Saturday, where FFA Teams from six area schools gathered for the annual Tri-County FFA Land Judging Competition.

Students and adults from as far away as Cedar Key and Williston were in attendance for the event, where area FFA teams gathered to explore and grade for different land-sites on the farm.

The teams were looking for seven ‘key soil characteristics’ ranging from soil erosion and permeability to surface texture and rooting zones.
