  • 2012 Beast Feast a success

The Levy County Schools Foundation’s 2012 Beast Feast held on Saturday, Sept. 29, was the most successful ever, according to LCSF Director Angela Johnson. She said more than 300 people turned out for the event to feast on seafood and wild (and some tame) game prepared and donated by 60 community groups, politicians and businesses. A live auction also raised more than $2,000 for the foundation that gives scholarships to students and provides classroom supplies.

  • New pick up and drop off system at CES

There are two ways for parents to enter the school this year:

       1. If you want to drop off or pick up a child at the front of the school then you will need to come in through the main entrance on 4th Avenue and follow the white arrows all the way around the parking lot to the front of the building. This will be just a large loop to help pull in cars off the road.

  • Big changes in Levy schools principal lineup

Nine of the district's 12 public schools will see a new principal or vice principal for the 2012-2013 school year. The district will also be without an assistant superintendent.

Assistant superintendent Gina Tovine has left the county to take a similar job in Orange County schools. Because of a stretched budget, the district doesn't plan to fill the position for the immediate future.
