  • Board approves WES janitor suspension without pay

  • Congratulations to the GED graduates

    Congratulations to the latest class of graduates from the adult education program at the College of Central Florida Levy Center. Eleven students received their high school diplomas during commencement on Thursday at Tommy Usher Center in Chiefland.

    CF President Dr. James Henningsen addressed the graduates, a first for any class of the college.

    Three Chiefland students were presented awards for academic achievement  at Monday night’s city commission meeting.

  • Kindergarten enrollment open at CES

       Chiefland Elementary  School  is accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year kindergarten enrollment.
       Parents may come by Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. or call the office at 493-6040.

    School play Thursday-Saturday
    The Chiefland Middle School students will present their annual play with performances Thursday, May 10, through Saturday, May 12, at 7 nightly at the Chiefland High School Auditorium.
    Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for everyone else.

  • Chiefland Movie Night

    Chiefland Elementary School hosted a movie night Friday to celebrate the end of this year’s Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests (FCAT).

    Families brought chairs, blankets and pillows to sit or relax on in the grassy oval of the track at the school.

    The film was shown on a giant screen held up by inflatable tubes.

  • George visits school to encourage the sciences

    When guest speaker Denny George visited with the students enrolled in Algebra I at Chiefland High School, they were able to learn first hand how their course work applies to the world of work.

  • HOSA on the move

    Chiefland High School students involved with HOSA traveled to Jacksonville recently to participate in the HOSA State Leadership Conference.

  • State D.O.E. rep comes to Levy County

    One month into his job, Rod Duckworth has been very busy.
    The new Florida D.O.E. Chancellor for the Division of Career and Adult Education visited Chiefland High School on April 17. It's part of a state-wide tour that also saw him visit Williston Middle School. Relocating from his native Arkansas, Duckworth and his team are looking to get a feel for his new state.
