    Transportation disadvantaged board meeting

    The Levy County Transportation Disadvantaged Coordinating Board will conduct its regular business meeting on Thursday, April 16, at 10 a.m. in the Levy County Courthouse in the County Commissioners’ Board Room, at 355 S. Court St., Bronson.

    The board meeting is open to the public.

  • Mason Hancock of Georgia was one of many spring breakers who visited Fanning Springs State Park last week for a dip in the icy waters.

    The park is open from 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year. Admission is $6 per vehicle with two to eight people, or $4 for a single occupant.

  • The Cedars of Lebanon cemetery annual spring cleanup is Saturday, April 11, beginning at 9 a.m. at the cemetery.

    Area old timers and friends gather to socialize and share a covered dish. The cemetery is located six miles north of Inglis. Bring a rake and a lawn chair and join the group.

  • Camp Kesem at the Florida State University, an organization dedicated to helping children affected by a parent’s cancer, announces its 1st annual Superhero Scramble 5K, event on Sunday, April 26 at 9 a.m. at the Integration Statue on the Florida State University campus (near Woodward Ave. and Tennessee St.)

  • Students from Chiefland Middle High School will host a first-ever “Fields of Faith" on Wednesday, April 22, at 6 p.m. to share their Christian faith with fellow students. The interdenominational outreach event will be held at Wayne Pridgeon Football Stadium.
