  • Fall Bazaar at Good Shepherd

       It is almost time for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church's annual Fall Bazaar, Yard and Bake Sale, scheduled Oct. 3-4.

    The event is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there will be lots of yard sale items and, of course, our bake sale with lots of homemade cookies, cakes, muffins, breads, etc. We will also have hotdogs and chili for sale for lunch.

  • The Levy County 4-H Roundup is Sept. 20, at 625 N. Hathaway Ave., in Bronson. The event begins at 9 a.m. and marks the beginning of the 4-H year.

       A barbeque contest begins at 8 a.m. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.

  • The 4th Annual “Hutch” Hitchinson's Legacy Poker Ride to benefit Haven Hospice will be Saturday, Oct. 11, all vehicles welcome. And the ride happens come rain or shine.

    The ride is organized by friends of Hutchinson, a biker who organized rides to raise funds for community projects and who died in a tragic accident in Homestead in 2010. All proceeds from the run will stay in the Tri-County Area served by Haven.

    The top prize for the best hand in the ride is a three-night stay at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campground.

  • The Chiefland Farmers Market returns to the Old Depot Park/ Trailhead Park in south Chiefland on U.S. Highway 19/98 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Local farmers and vendors will be on hand with everything from pet pigeons to ducks, goats, eggs, soap, jams, jellies, meats and produce — including new Wacky Dos for those who need a new look.

    The market, sponsored by the City of Chiefland and organized by the Greater Chiefland Area Chamber of Commerce, is on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month at the park.
