The Friends of the Lower Suwannee Refuge will host a birding walk for visually impaired individuals on Monday. Meet at 8 a.m. at the River Trail parking area of County Road 347, just south of Fowler's Bluff. Turn at the Lower Suwannee Refuge "River Trail and Offices" sign, and the trail is a quarter mile down on the right.
Last Saturday, instead of hunting or fishing, I took a morning run with a friend. We both were not feeling too good because we had run a little harder the day before, so we cut a planned 8-mile run down to 7 miles. I had also just joined my wife and daughter in a detox diet the day before and was craving my jelly beans or something sweet really bad. It was not a good morning.
Sadness, anger, confusion — these are some of the feelings people experience when dealing with grief. However, children, teens and adults do not grieve in the same way, so a different counseling approach is needed.
The Dixie County Historical Society will be hosting another evening of Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel music for your enjoyment on Saturday May 7, at the Old Town Elementary School Auditorium, located at SR. 349 and CR 55A. There will be other bands performing as well. The music will start at 6 p.m. and will finish when the music stops. Admission is free, so bring the family and enjoy.
Army Pvt. Jessica E. Seeloff, daughter of Karen Seeloff of Trenton, and niece of Tami Moses of Old Town, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Seeloff graduated in 2010 from Trenton High School.
