 Mr. and Miss CHS for the Class 2011 are seniors Jacob Reidy and Lyndsie Stalvey. They were chosen by a popular vote among the Senior Class at Chiefland High School.

Bill Roberson knows where he comes from, a long line of Levy County crackers stretching back seven generations.  His ancestors came to these parts in the early 1800s, making a living as carpenters, cattlemen and the sowers of seeds.

 Nobody needs to tell me I cannot sing, although I have many fine friends who forward this information to me on a regular basis. It is as though there was a friend-wide conspiracy trying to convince me not to sing in public. Even the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage gets in on this act.

    The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s  Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park, Florida’s first state park, will host the 35th Annual Reenactment of the Battle of Olustee, February 18-20, 2011. Throughout the weekend, more than 2,000 demonstrators will present living history impressions of military and civilian life at the time of Florida’s largest Civil War battle.
