It has been a couple of hot, sweaty Saturdays, but the employees of Waste Pro in Chiefland know they have helped folks who were in a fix.

Mostly, it's folks who have found themselves with a lot of stuff on their property.

As a community service, the crews at Waste Pro have been choosing one project every three months and helping folks mired in stuff clean up their property.

It was the last day of the month.  Taking my desk calendar and reviewing the appointments filled, the projects accomplished, and the obligations met, I tore it from the pad, rolled it up into a wad and threw it into the wastebasket.

Williston Friends hold book sale

Friends of the Williston Public Library will hold its first book fair of the fall from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the City Hall Community Center,  at the south end of Williston City Hall. There will be a huge number of books and magazines.

On August 30, the Bronson Church of God turned the eleven o’clock church service over to “God’s Little Army”. The children, ages ranging from diapers to teens, greeted guests at the door as they entered, handed them a church bulletin, made the church announcements, acted as Deacons, held worship service and interacted with the Pastor and congregation for the message.
