    There are many feelings people experience when dealing with a loss. Grief, sadness, anger and confusion are just a few. However, children, teens and adults all grieve differently, so a different counseling approach is needed.

  •    Eight members and friends of the Florida Paddling Trails Association did a coastal clean-up around Bird Creek Bridge on County Road 40 in Yankeetown on June 18.

  • George Meeks, of Chiefland, gives pointers as his son, Kade, shoots an arrow at a target Friday at the Diamond Sports Park in Gainesville. The Meeks were there for the District 4 softball tourney where the bow-and-arrow display was set up by the Easton-Newberry Sports Complex.

  •   Army Pvt. Matthew C. McKinney, the son of Michael McKinney of Chiefland and Tammi Reda of St. Cloud. has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consists of basic infantry training and advanced individual training.

  • Denny and Jo Williams, of Chiefland celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were wed on June 20, 1961, in Dade City.

  •    Mr. and Mrs. Chet and Dana Collins and Stephen Jones, of Bell, announce the engagement of their daughter Andi Jones, also of Bell, to Randy T. Ransom, of Chiefland. Ransom is the son of Randy and Jammie Ransom, of Trenton, and Lorrie Hammock, of Chiefland.
       The bride-to-be attended  Bell High School and is currently studying nursing at Santa Fe College. The groom-to-be attended Chiefland High School and works at the Gilchrist Club, in Trenton.
    The wedding is planned for July 2, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Pricilla Baptist Church.

  • Wanda Neilsen and William Graden are set to marry June 25, at 2 p.m. at 214 S.E. 3rd Ave., in Trenton.
