  • From left, Billie Ray Sharp shakes hands with Betty Walker, of LARC. Sharp has donated this table for the purpose of raising funds for LARC. The table, over the next few months, will be on display at Capital City Bank. Tickets to win the table, crafted from cherry and black walnut, can be bought for $5 at the bank.

  • Conservationist Debbie Meeks and former Lower Suwannee Refuge Youth Conservation Corps employee Vance Renaud, picked up litter along the scenic Dixie Mainline between Suwannee and Shired Island last Saturday.   The two covered the 9-mile nature drive and the salt marsh habitat of Salt Creek Point. The wildlife approved.

  • Donnie and Patricia Eplee announce the engagement of their daughter Kelly Braswell to Jared Douglas, son of Greg and Susan Douglas. Miss Braswell attends Sante Fe College and is employed at Drummond Community Bank. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and attends New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also the collegiate and missions pastor at Pince Grove Baptist Church.
    The wedding will take place at Pine Grove Baptist Church on July 9 at 4:30 p.m. Reception will follow.

    Director, Quilt Museum
    The Log Cabin Quilters met Thursday, May 26, at the Levy County Quilt Museum. It was a very nice fellowship day. We had lots of new books to look at and finding out how many more need our prayers.
    Next week we are cleaning the Museum of so much we don’t need. The kitchen is full of all kinds of stuff.  We’ll pull it all out and put the duplicates on the north porch and try to get rid of it.  More about that later.

    Suwannee Valley Players announces its upcoming production of "Crimes of the Heart," a comedy/drama by Beth Henley and directed by Andy Kidd.
    Show dates are May 27-29 and June 3-5. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 p.m. and Sunday performances are at 2:30 p.m. Shows are at the Chief Theatre, 25 E. Park Ave., Chiefland.
