    The Food for Life food distribution is on the second and fourth Saturday of the month starting at 10 a.m. at the Chiefland First United Methodist Church with a suggested donation of $3.50.

    The Bronson United Methodist Church Thrift Shop will be having a July Sale-A-Bration Friday, July 10 and and Saturday, July 11 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.   Vendors are needed for only $5 per space per day.  If you want to reserve a vendor space, please call Peggy at 352-316-3817.

    Turning Point barbecue deal

    This is truly a meal of a deal at Turning Point ministry on Thursday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. Diners are eat in or take out meals with pulled barbecue meat, beans, slaw, bread, drink and a dessert. The suggested donation is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

    VBS Bronson Road Church

    Bronson Road Church will hold vacation Bible school from 6-8:30 p.m. June 22-25.

    The church is located at 1380 NE 80th Ave., Newberry.

  • Connie Brown, left, executive director for Tri County Outreach, accepts a food donation from Kassie Ortiz, postal employee in Chiefland. Tri County Outreach would like to thank the citizens of Chiefland for all the can goods that were donated to the food pantry May 9 as part of the annual Mother's Day Postal Workers Food Drive.

    Also a big thank you to all the postal workers who collected the cans.

    Tri County Outreach's emergency food pantry is open Monday-Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 708 N. Main St., Chiefland.

  • Bronson has been a town in search of a festival for a few years – remember the Pumpkin Festival? – but it may have hit upon a perfect celebration with Saturday’s 1st Ever Blueberry Festival.

    There are a number of blueberry farms in Levy County, some of them U-pick operations, so the festivities will support Levy County agriculture and Bronson’s primary production crop of blueberries.
