• Lighthouse youth save Christmas for Another Way!

    Way to go Youth from the Lighthouse Word Church! They found out that Another Way, our local women’s abuse shelter would have a record number of children there this year for Christmas. So they challenged the congregation to bring in gifts for the children. They did and the youth wrapped them and delivered them. What a blessing!

  • New Years Eve Service at Lighthouse

    Lighthouse Word Church will be having a New Years Eve Service, tonight (Thursday, Dec. 31), starting with food and fellowship at 6:30 p.m.

    The service will start at 7:30 p.m., beginning with praise and worship, followed by a word for the New Year given by the pastoral staff and Evangelist Billy Mayo, and will conclude with receiving communion. Come and start the New Year in the presence of God. A nursery will be available for the service.

    St. Albans schedules services

    St. Alban's Episcopal Church will have their Christmas Eve Service, Thursday, Dec. 24 beginning at 10:30 p.m. with a carol sing, followed by a Communion Service at 11 p.m.

    The Suwannee River Baptist Church will be offering free BBQ dinners on Thursday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 64 N.E. 718 Street, Old Town across from the new Dollar General. Eat in or carry out.

  • Local volunteers to collect gifts for children in need

    This month, six locations in the Tri-County Area will serve as collection sites for Operation Christmas Child—the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind. The annual Samaritan’s Purse project is a favorite of many tri-county area residents, families, churches and groups who spread joy to millions of children around the world by filling shoeboxes with items like a doll or soccer ball, other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement.

    Spaghetti dinner at Chiefland UMC

    The United Methodist Men's Spaghetti Dinner is Friday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 707 North Main St, Chiefland

    The suggested donation is $8 per adult or take-out meal. Children 10 and under dine in for free.

    Groves Family at Full Gospel

    Full Gospel Outreach Church of Chiefland invites everyone to a Sunday  evening Gospel Sing with "The Groves Family" from Kissimmee.  The Sing will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25.

  • Chiefland students meet at flagpole to celebrate faith

    This past Wednesday, Sept. 23 over 100 students and parents gathered around Chiefland Middle High School’s flagpole before school to pray for their fellow students, school, town and country.

    Minister of Youth Noah Raulerson from Hardeetown Baptist Church led the event.

    The students broke up into small groups and prayed together.

    "A lot of students attended and participated. I like how this year we prayed in small groups; it was more personal. Overall it went really well,” commented senior Libby Sheffield.

    Good Shepherd hosts

    October Fest Sunday

    Fall is here and it is time for the annual October Fest. This year it will be Sunday, Oct. 4, after the 10:30 a.m. church service. There will be bratwurst, sauerkraut, potato salad, apple sauce and much more. Good Shepherd Lutheran is located on US 19 north next door to the winery.

    Blessing of Animals

    The Annual Blessing of the Animals is Sunday, Oct. 4, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church. The church service is at 10:30 a.m. and the pets will be blessed after the service.

    The Food for Life food distribution is on the second and fourth Saturday of the month starting at 10 a.m. at the Chiefland First United Methodist Church with a suggested donation of $3.50.
