    Cookie walk at St. John the Evangelist's

       St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church's St Vincent de Paul Society will have a cookie walk on Saturday, Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

       All are invited to come in to choose a whole or half bag of homemade goodies and get all of your Christmas cookie needs taken care of in one place. There will be a wide assortment. The funds raised will be used to buy food for the food shelf.

  • 'Godspell' to open Nov. 14

    The College of Central Florida Musical Theatre Ensemble will present “Godspell” Nov. 14-15 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. in the Dassance Fine Arts Center at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road.

    A pre-performance reception will be held Friday, Nov. 14, from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Webber Center. The reception is free, and guests may view the Visual Artists’ Society “Best of the Season” art exhibit on display in the adjoining Webber Gallery.

    Fall Fun Night Friday

       Creekside Christian School at Otter Creek Baptist Church will have its annual Fall Fun Night this Friday night from 6:30-9:00 p.m. There will be a hay ride, bounce house, big slide, jousting, hay maze, cake walk, gold fish and many other booths. Arm Bands are $5. The concession stand will have hot dogs, chili, soup and sweets. There will be a drawing for many prizes donated by local businesses. The address is 171 SW 3rd Street, Otter Creek.

    Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus

    The First Baptist Church of Chiefland will be hosting a live simulcast called "Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus" Sunday, Nov. 2, from 7-9 p.m. Come hear Nabeel Qureshi tell about his dramatic journey from Islam to Christianity.  

    Childcare is available for 5th graders and younger.  A love offering will be taken, but the event is free.

  • CF to host lecture of civil discourse among faiths tonight

     The College of Central Florida Humanities and Social Sciences Department and the Interfaith Alliance of Marion County will present “Can We Talk? Civil Discourse Among the Faiths” Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. in the Charles R. Dassance Fine Arts Center at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road.

    Fall festival at Resurrection

       Resurrection Fellowship is hosting a Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 25, from 12 to 4 p.m. This event is free to the general public and will feature a bounce house, fishing pond, paint ball booth and cake walk. We invite you to bring your favorite chili to enter into our Chili Cookoff, too.  Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served.

    The church is located between Chiefland and Bronson, just 2 miles off of Hwy 27 on 339A (Breezy Acres Campground Road).

  • Church hot dog wagon rides again

    The Lighthouse Word Church Hot Dog Wagon will be handing out hot dogs and a message from God on Saturday, Oct. 18, across the street from the Gas Mart at the intersection of County Road 345 and U.S. 19 in Chiefland.

    The public is invited to come by for a free hot dog, a beverage and a ticket to enter in the giveaways.
