    Fall festival at Resurrection

       Resurrection Fellowship is hosting a Fall Festival Saturday, Oct. 25,

    From 12 to 4 p.m. This event is free to the general public and will feature a bounce house, fishing pond, paint ball booth and cake walk. We invite you to bring your favorite chili to enter into our Chili Cookoff, too. 

    Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served.

    The church is located between Chiefland and Bronson, just 2 miles off

    of Hwy 27 on 339A (Breezy Acres Campground Road).

  • Church hot dog wagon rides again

    The Lighthouse Word Church Hot Dog Wagon will be handing out hot dogs and a message from God on Saturday, Oct. 18, across the street from the Gas Mart at the intersection of County Road 345 and U.S. 19 in Chiefland.

    The public is invited to come by for a free hot dog, a beverage and a ticket to enter in the giveaways.

  • Lighthouse Word's Thai partner thriving

    The church at Mae Pae, Thailand, which is sponsored by the Lighthouse Word Church in Chiefland is growing, doing well and getting stronger.

    The congregation at LWC thanks all who have prayed and are praying for its success.

  • Guest speaker at Lighthouse Word Sunday

       Pastor Datha Thomas will be the guest speaker at Lighthouse Word Church on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Datha, who is the Pastor of The Seed Church in Savannah, Ga., and the District Director for ICFM (International Convention of Faith Ministries), is tiny in stature, but mighty in faith.

    She always delivers a powerful message that will stir your faith. A nursery and children’s classes are also provided. Call 493-1554 for more information.

    Church yard sale in Bronson

       The Bronson United Methodist Church is sponsoring a community yard sale Saturday, Oct. 11, starting at 8 a.m. It will be located at the corner of U.S. 27A and S.R. 24 in Bronson at the traffic light. There will be lots of great items for sale.  Spaces can be reserved to set up for $10 each. Proceeds from space sales will go to church missions.

  • Why is the church in my pocket?

    The Sunday after the Tsunami that devastated the Philippines in 2004, I shared with my congregation how we could help through our denominational relief organization (UMCOR). That morning there happened to be other financial requests in the bulletin. This prompted one person to complain out loud during announcements that “the church is always in my pocket!”

    Fall Bazaar at Good Shepherd

       It is almost time for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church's annual Fall Bazaar, Yard and Bake Sale, scheduled Oct. 3-4.

    The event is from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and there will be lots of yard sale items and, of course, our bake sale with lots of homemade cookies, cakes, muffins, breads, etc. We will also have hotdogs and chili for sale for lunch.

    The Bronson United Methodist Church is hosting  "Willing Hearts," a local gospel trio, this Sunday, at 6 p.m. Come and be refreshed by their singing and witness and shout hallelujah!  The church is located at 235 S. Court St.
