  • Children of the World concert Wednesday

    The Lighthouse Word Church will be hosting in concert, The Children of The World International Children’s Choir on Wednesday, December 2, at 7 p.m. These orphan children travel the world to generate compassion and inspire individuals to get involved by providing clean water to help save lives.  A special video presentation will take you into the heart of this crisis and show how you can make a difference.     Dunnellon Library friends

     book sale

    The Friends of the Dunnellon Public Library Book Store will have a storewide sale at the store inside the library located at 20351 Robinson Road (behind Sweetbay) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, and 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

    The Friends are offering everyday low prices of $2 for hardcovers; $1 for large paperbacks and .50 for paperbacks.  This week all books big and small, fiction and non-fiction will be 50 cents each.  Inventory changes daily depending on donations.

    Original Florida Tourism meets

    The monthly meeting of the Original Florida Tourism Task Force will be held at 10 a.m. at The Treasures of Madison County Art Guild and Gallery, 196 SW Range Ave., Madison.

    Lunch will be from BubbaQue’s, sponsored by the Levy County Tourism Development Council, and dessert will be Carol McQueen’s famous homemade key lime pie.

  • Suwannee Players holiday play opens Dec. 4

    Suwannee Valley Players announces the opening for its upcoming holiday production of “Not a Creature Was Stirring ... not even a moose,” a comedy written by Pat Cook.

    Editor J.J. Garnes of the Herald Tribune makes sure to use the holiday to his own advantage, whether it be to expose a crooked mayor or sell a few more issues with just the right angle. And he thinks he finds it when he finds a letter from a small boy who "don't want no more Christmases."

    Miracle Holy Ghost Revival

     begins Friday

    The Miracle Holy Ghost Revival will be held under the tent at El Faro Assembly of God, 12273 U.S. Highway 301,  Belleview, beginning Friday and running through Nov. 29.

    Pastor Victor E. Feliciano is hosting Evangelist David Johnson to minister nightly. Services will be at 7 p.m. nightly and 6 p.m on Sundays. The public is invited to attend.

    Guardian ad litem program

        Volunteer to advocate for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the court system.  In Levy County, there are about 80 children in the child welfare system.  Help ensure these children are heard and not forgotten. No legal background is necessary.

  • Turkey cupcakes

    Kids young and old are invited to come make their own "turkey" at the library. The kids will be given everything they need to create a sugary turkey cupcake creation and then gobble it down. All ages are invited to this Free family event. Large groups are welcome, but please let the library know in advance.
