  • Teddy Mac’s karaoke on Mondays, Thursdays at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park

    LIVE OAK,  — Looking for a place the whole family can socialize with old friends, make new friends and perhaps even get on stage yourself and sing your heart out in karaoke?  The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) hosts Elvis Tribute Artist and karaoke king Ted “Teddy Mac” McMullen every Monday and Thursday, starting at 5 p.m. The music begins at 7 p.m. The SOS Café and Restaurant is also open and serving.

  • Dotti South and the Slackers to perform Sunday

        Dotti South and the Slackers have been invited to perform on the outdoor stage in the square at Tioga Town Center just west of Gainesville on Sunday, June 27 from 3 to – 7 p.m.  The Tioga Town Center is offering a Family Concert Series the last Sunday of the month through August. The concerts are family friendly and concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and a picnic basket to enjoy the evening of live music. The concerts are part of Tioga Town Center’s Summer Entertainment Series.

    n The Bronson Church of God is having their annual God and Country Day, July 4th. The event will kick off at 5 p.m. There is no charge to participate.  Here is just a sample of the exciting activities you and your family can participate in. Gospel Music, water games for all ages, bounce house, beanbag toss, dunk tank (pastor inside), volleyball, horseshoes, arts and craft sale, baked goods auction. Also we will have a contest for the “Best Decorated ‘Little Red Wagon’” for ages four and under.

    n Family Bible Chapel will be having a yard sale at 14 Main Street, Chiefland Thursday through Saturday, June 10 and 11 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. and June 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., rain or shine.

    Items for sale are church organ, large oak desk, books, knick-knacks, clothes and various items to numerous to mention. An instrumental CD, “Serenity”, by Sharon Cottrell and Deborah Taylor will also be sold.

    Sales will be held in the church hall, entrance is in the rear of the church.

    All proceeds will benefit the repairing of the church roof.

    Today   Tourism board meets The Levy County Tourist Development Council will have their bi-monthly meeting  at 6 p.m. at the Levy County Visitors Bureau Office, 620 N Hathaway Avenue, Bronson. The meeting is open to the public.   Field trip on geology of springshed The Fanning and Manatee Springs Working Group will take a driving tour from 8 a.m.

    St. John's hold monthly fish fry

    St John the Evangelist Catholic Church 4050 U.S. Highway 27A, Chiefland, is holding its monthly Southern fish fry from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    The menu includes, fried fish, french fries, hush puppies, cole slaw, beans, grits,  deserts and beverages.

    Prices are $ 7for adults, and $ 4 for children under 7 .

  • Help QB Club by buying lunch

    The Chiefland High School has BBQ Pork Lunch tickets on sale with proceeds benefitting the football program.

       The meal includes pulled pork, cole slaw, baked beans, roll, and dessert.  This event will be held on Friday, May 28 at noon at First Baptist Church.  Meals are $8 each and can be picked up at FBC or delivered.  You can’t go wrong with the purchase of this meal cooked by our premier chefs.
