  • Florida Master Naturalist Program

    The Upland Habitats Module, a six-week course, will be on Thursdays, Sept. 22 through Oct. 27, Levy County Extension Office, 625 N. Hathaway Ave — U.S. Highway 27A, Bronson. Course fee of $225 includes student workbooks, 12 presentations, three field trips, four videos, certificate, patch, pin, and more.

    4-H Summer Camps
    The Levy County 4-H hosts a variety of camps at the Bronson Agricultural Center this summer. Campers must be at least 8 years old by the date of the camp. The cost is $25 per camp or $50 for ATV camp. Camps are Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Camp fee includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, field trips and recreation.

  • CLASS REUNION

       The Chiefland High School Class of 1991 will hold its 20th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 6:30 - 11:30 p.m. at the Best Western Gateway Grand, off 39th Avenue, Gainesville.

  • Family Fun Day at Manatee Springs

     Manatee Springs State Park will host Family Fun Day this Saturday  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
       Participants can enjoy games such as the three-legged race, sponge game and more. There will be competitive races for family teams. Events are set up for every visitor to safely participate with little or no assistance required. All activities are free with park admission.

  • Free admission to hoops tourney

     Action begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday for the public to see past and present top basketball players from around the region during a 3-on-3 tournament and 3-point shootout at Chiefland High School's gymnasium. Concessions will be open with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, candy and an assortment of drinks, so fans can sit back and enjoy cheering for their favorite teams as they battle for the title.
