Library Friends board to meet

The Friends of the Luther Callaway Public Library Board of Directors will hold their monthly meeting at the Library, 104 N.E. 3rd St., Chiefland (a block behind City Hall), at 11 a.m. The Luther Callaway Public Library is the Chiefland Branch of the Levy County Public Library System. The Williston FFA chapter will be holding a BBQ Dinner Fundraiser Friday September 17, 2010 prior to the home football game against Chiefland.  The dinner will be served from 5-7pm in the Williston High School cafeteria.  The dinner is only $8 and you can purchase a ticket from any FFA member or call the Agriculture Department at 528-2153.  Walk ins are welcome.

Lighthouse Word Church will be facilitating the Financial Peace University on Sunday nights, starting  Sunday, Sept. 12, at 6 p.m.  The 13-week program, taught by Dave Ramsey, has helped more than 1 million families across the country positively change their financial future by beating debt and building wealth.

  Wednesday    SHINE volunteers can find  Medicare answers Seniors with questions about options for Medicare, Medicare/Medicaid, disability, supplemental insurance, Part D prescription drug plans, or Medicare billings can find answers with the help of SHINE volunteers. SHINE, a volunteer program with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, provides one-on-one counseling. SHINE provides free, unbiased and confidential assistance.
