    The Suwannee Valley Players announces the March 1 opening of their spring production of "Little Shop of Horrors", the next production in its 30th season.

The Robinson Family, owners of Robinson's Seafood, is hosting a fish fry on Monday, Feb. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant at 6991 S.W. State Road 24  to benefit the family of John Fredderick “Johnny” Alford, who died in a hunting accident on Jan. 19. 

    The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Florida State Fair Authority are partnering to celebrate 500 years of agriculture at this year's Florida State Fair. The fair officially beings Thursday, Feb. 7, when Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam and his fellow Cabinet members will "flip the switch" to illuminate the Midway in Tampa.
