    The Levy County Fire Administration – a committee composed of all the fire chiefs in the county and municipalities will be tonight (Thursday, Nov. 5) at 5:30 p.m.

    The meeting will be in Classroom D at the Levy County Public Safety Complex, 1251 N.E. County Road 343, Bronson.

  • Bronson library book sale Nov. 7

    On Saturday, Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Bronson Friends of the Library will be having a Book Sale at the Bronson Public Library.

    Books can be purchased by the bag for $1.

    We have all types of books for readers, including children's books.  This event is sponsored by the Bronson Friends of the Library.

    Yes, my friends, that creepy, kooky family, “The Addams Family, the Musical,” will be departing the Chief Theater in Chiefland on Sunday, Nov. 1 after a three-week run.

    It appears that Wednesday is grown up and has fallen in love. But, as Uncle Fester points out, there is a problem. She is keeping her engagement a secret. First she wants to introduce the young man and his family, the Beinkes to her family.

    The Suwannee River Eagles Aerie 4520 will hold Hamburger Platter Night on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 4-8 p.m. A donation of $5 is suggested for each meal.

    The Eagles are located 27844 S.E. Highway 19 North, beside the Texaco station in Old Town.

    The Levy County Tourist Development Council will hold its regular bi-monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m.

    The meeting is open to the public.

    Library Friends meetings

       The Friends of the Luther Callaway Public Library (FLCPL), the Chiefland branch of the Levy County Public Library System, meet on the second Thursday of the month, except in July and August, at 11 a.m. at the library, 104 N.E. 3rd St., Chiefland. The Friends support the library by promoting the library's programs and resources and through fund-raising projects to purchase reading materials, books on tape, videos, operating supplies and minor equipment.  There are no dues.

    10 a.m. - noon – Florida Telecommunications Relay - Administers the Specialized Telecommunications Equipment Distribution Program for residents of Florida who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf/blind and speech disabled. FTR provides a variety of equipment, such as amplified phones, TTYS devices, ringers and specialized communicators, free with qualification.
