  • DAV poker run on Saturday

    The Disabled American Veterans local chapter is holding a poker run on Saturday, April 16 starting t 10:30 a.m. at Bett's Big T in Chiefland.

    Other stops are: Willards in Williston, continue to  Los Avina in Archer and Cherry's Seafood & Steak in Trenton, then finish at Beef O' Brady's in Chiefland.

    Registration fee is $20/ extra poker hand $10, Raffle Tickets are available: one for $1 or six for $5 and you do not have to  be present to win.

    The proceeds from the Tri-County Chapter 63 run will go to veterans.

  • Williston Lions host weekend of arts, crafts, barbecue

    The Williston Lions Club will present its Arts & Crafts Show/Flea Market and barbecue on Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 6, 7 and 8th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lions' clubhouse at 401 SE 6th Avenue in Williston.

    Local artists will display their work along with crafting vendors showcasing creative supplies and equipment. Proceeds help support the Lions continuing efforts in our community.   • 'Uncorked' at Dakotah Winery

    The Appleton Museum of Art, College of Central Florida, will host “Uncorked,” an evening of ARTFUL Dining, Sunday, April 24, from 4-6 p.m. at Dakotah Winery, 14365 U.S. 19, Chiefland.

    Guests will savor hors d’oeuvres and Dakotah’s most popular wines on a verandah overlooking the winery’s wildlife refuge, koi pond and wood ducks. Enjoy classical guitar by Pete Smith and the onsite pop-up gallery featuring artists from Charlie Parker Pottery; artwork is available for purchase.

    St. Alban's Episcopal Church Women are hosting their Annual $2 Ice Cream Social and Chinese Auction on Sunday, March 6 from noon to 2 p.m.

    There will be many auction items to take a chance on while enjoying the goodies.

    Tickets can be purchased at the door. The church is located 4 miles north of Walmart on U.S. Route 19.
