    LifeSouth, the area's blood donation and supplier is experiencing an extreme shortage this summer and is asking the public to step up and donate.

    There will be a Bronson Community Blood Drive on Thursday, July 30, between 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Courthouse, 355 S. Court St., in Bronson.

  • Matheson Museum features trip back through time

    Take a journey into an era when railroads were the lifeblood of North Central Florida at the Matheson History Museum’s Gainesville Express Train Show Family FunDay on Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, July 12, from 1 to 4 p.m.

    Entrance is $4 per adult and $1 per child under 12 years old.

  • Legion to mark Flag Day

    June 14 is Flag Day and the American Legion Post 236 in Bronson will be honoring our national emblem. The public is welcome to attend.  

       The Sons of the American Legion are holding a poker run and the Post is putting on a fish fry.

       There will also be a flag retirement ceremony whereby worn out flags will be destroyed according to tradition.

    The fish fry will begin at 4 p.m. followed by the flag ceremony.  

    The Legion is also holding a membership drive for the Legion, Auxiliary, Sons and Riders.
