Fatigue could have been a factor last Friday night as the Bronson High football team dropped its homecoming game 24-9 to visiting St. Joseph Academy.
Bronson had been on a hot streak, beating St. John Lutheran last week for Senior Night, then putting a decisive 34-6 finish on the second half of their 44-26 win over Florida School for the Deaf Monday night.
?We played two and a half games in eight days,? said Eagles? head coach Greg Brochetti. ?We just ran out of gas in the second half.?
Bronson started out with great promise, setting up a first and goal inside the St. Joseph 10-yard line in the first two minutes of the game. A long run by Rodolfo Contreras brought them to the brink of the goal line, but they were unable to punch in. Quarterback Kelby Barber kicked a field goal to get the Eagles on the board, 3-0.
As the Flashes launched an attack on Bronson?s goal, Rodolfo Contreras picked a St. Joseph pass at the Eagle 30, sending Bronson back on the offensive.
