Workshop helps professionals retool for today’s tough job search

Workforce Connection of Citrus, Levy and Marion counties will offer “Retooling and Refueling for Success” workshops designed to arm unemployed professionals with the skills to find a job in today’s tough marketplace.
 The fee-free workshops take place Oct. 18-20 and Nov. 15-17 at the College of Central Florida’s Ocala campus. Each three-day workshop features a variety of instructors to provide career tools and help participants develop strategies to keep focused and successful during career transitions.
 The “Retooling and Refueling” program includes exploring talent and career options, improving resume and interviewing skills and developing customized career campaigns.
To be eligible for the no-cost program, participants must:
• Have a work history of making more than $30,000 a year
• Possess a specific skill for at least five years
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Be displaced from the workforce
All job seekers are also urged to register with the Employ Florida Marketplace, the state’s premier online job bank, at www.EmployFlorida.com. Registration may be done from any computer or at a Workforce Connection Center in Ocala, Inverness or Bronson.
