A 28-year-old woman died and two children and a man were hospitalized after an accident on Saturday at about 5:30 p.m., according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
It is the sixth traffic death in the first 10 weeks of 2013.
Tara Nicole Bruderly of Trenton, was driving a 2006 Toyota Highlander north on County Road 347 when she failed to stop at County Road 346A where William Harry Couey, 47, of Trenton was heading east driving a 2000 Ford F-150 with a flatbed trailer carrying a large tractor.
Bruderly and her passenger Kaylee Bruderly, 11, were not wearing seat belts at the time of the accident although an infant, Alden Bruderly, was strapped in. Couey was wearing a seatbelt.
The Toyota's left front end struck the right side of the trailer, dislodging the tractor which fell on the left side of the Toyota before the trailer hitch came loose and the trailer crossed the west side of CR346A before stopping on the shoulder. The truck traveled onto the north shoulder of the road, crossed both lanes of CR 346A and finally stopped on the south shoulder of the road.
