Withlacoochee Wilderness Challenge a success

-A A +A

The Fourth Annual Withlacoochee Wilderness Challenge was a success.  The fund raiser for the Withlacoochee Area Residents was held March 24th on the Withlacoochee River at Winding River Park in Yankeetown.  Participants paddled from Winding River Park to Bennett’s Creek and back all the while looking for clues to answer Rally Questions.  After the rally, participants and spectators gathered across the street at the Yankeetown-Inglis Woman’s Club for a homemade pulled pork lunch and awards.  The top three places were presented a trophy and complimentary alligator by Yankeetown Mayor Janie Hinson.  They were; 1st place...Chris Fineout, 2nd place...Allison Sapp and 3rd place...Larry Feldhusen.  A drawing was held for the 21st and 22nd Circuit Court Benches; Sue Snook and Janie Hinson were the lucky winners of the handmade cedar benches.  The 50/50 raffle was won by Lynne Tate and the door prizes were given to about a dozen lucky participants.
