Three stories were told, and together, led to the arrest of a Williston man on animal cruelty charges.
Wayne Smith, 63, of N.E. 154th Avenue, was arrested May 27 after a neighbor made a call to the sheriff’s office.
According to the arrest report, Deputy Clint Anderson, the K-9 deputy, contacted the alleged victim, who told him she did not see her dog when she looked out the window. The dog was on a chain in the backyard, she said, and was now missing.
