An Memorial Day concert and party on a sandbar on the Suwannee River that is popular with boaters got out of hand with fights and gunfire and the arrests of three people on Sunday by state Fish and Wildlife officers.
A concert that drew about 1,500 people and 400 boats and watercraft was going on at the sandbar near Hart Springs in Gilchrist County, according to an FWC spokeswoman. The agency had seven officers in three boats on the river at the time.
