CES seasonal flu vaccinations The Levy County Health Department and Medimmune Inc. will administer free seasonal flu mist vaccinations to Chiefland Elementary School students on Monday, Oct. 19. It will be given to students whose parents have signed a consent form for the vaccination.   Cookie fun at Bronson Library

  GOP meets tonight

The regular monthly meeting of the Levy County Republican Executive Committee is Monday, Oct.19, at Bubbaque’s Restaurant in Chiefland.  The meeting will start with food and fellowship at 6:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. The group is looking for people who want to increase the number of registered Republicans in Levy County.

First United Methodist Church in Chiefland is holding its annual pumpkin and gourd sale in front of the church on U.S. Highway 27A/State Road 500. Small pumpkins are 50 cents each and prices on the larger  pumpkins go up to $20. The church is also selling swan gourds and pie pumpkins. The stand is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, including Sundays, until Oct. 31.

AARP meeting at Otter Springs

AARP will mee at 10:30 a.m. at the Otter Springs Lodge. The guest speaker will be Mary Lee Tanka who will talk about S.H.I.N.E, an organization which helps seniors make decisions about a supplemental Medicare policy and other topics that affect seniors.

Wednesday Health Assesment Day Annual Health Assessment Day and Chili Cook-off will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Tommy Usher Community Center, 516 SW 4th Ave., Chiefland. The Chiefland Elementary School PTO is hosting the annual Fall Festival on October 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the school. All proceeds go to the school. All are invited to enjoy the fun and help out the school!

Saturday Haven Hospice hosts Fall at the Derby

Haven Hospice hosts Fall at the Derby at Black Prong Equestrian Center, a 250-acre property, nestled in the heart of the Goethe Forest.
