Are you looking for a flexible volunteer opportunity that enables you to make a real difference in the lives of seniors in your community? Do you like to help others resolve problems? If you answered yes to these questions, then the Florida Department of Elder Affairs may have the perfect volunteer position for you!
Volunteers are needed in Levy County for the award-winning SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) Program. SHINE is a free, unbiased Medicare and health insurance information and counseling program that helps elders and those new to Medicare make informed decisions about their health and drug plans.
Free comprehensive training will be conducted in June 2010. Bilingual persons are encouraged to apply. Basic computer and Internet skills are required. Please contact the Elder Helpline and tell them you’d like to find out more about becoming a SHINE volunteer. Call 1-800-262-2243 today.
