Two raids lead to eight suspects' arrests in Fanning Springs and Chiefland

BRONSON - A search warrant served at a Fanning Springs residence on recently netted eight people suspected of drug crimes on April 2.

A subsequent raid in Chiefland on April 3 resulted in the arrest of another suspect, more cocaine, more cash and an assault rifle, according to Lt. Sullivan of the Levy County Sheriff's Office.

LCSO Lt. Scott Tummond obtained a search warrant for 17855 N.E. 71st Ave., Fanning Springs, Sullivan said, and it was served on April 2. Members of the LCSO Drug Task Force and Special Weapons And Tactics Team were utilized, because of the potential for violence against law enforcement officers, Sullivan said.

During the first operation, officers seized 40.8 grams of crack cocaine, 2.5 grams powder cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, $1,752 in cash, and two cars, Sullivan said.

With cocaine selling at approximately $100 a gram, Sullivan said, the street value of the drugs in Fanning Springs was about $4,200.

On April 3, LCSO Drug Force Commander Duane Dykstra led a team that executed a search warrant at 6750 N.W. 73rd Lane, Chiefland.

During that search, officers seized 15.7 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,600, an AK-47 assault rifle, a box of ammunition, $1,438 in cash, utensils to create crack cocaine by cooking powder cocaine, and digital scales to measure the weight of drugs for sale, Sullivan said.

Officers seized three more vehicles in the Chiefland raid.

Following are the eight suspects and charges: Adam Bolden, 25, of Old Town, two counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a drug dwelling and driving while license suspended; Tiffany E. Bukszar, 21, of Chiefland, possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of crack cocaine, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a drug dwelling; Raulney D. Macon, 25, of Gainesville, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of crack cocaine; Stephina M. Peterson, 23, of Chiefland, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and tampering with evidence; Willie T. Davis, 21, of Chiefland, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine; David L. Ellison, 33, of Trenton, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine; Ashley N. Suggs, 29, of Bell, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana; and Kelvin L. Thompson, 29, of Williston, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine.
