The Levy County Sheriff's Office-Chiefland Police Department Drug Task Force found more than it bargained for April 17 while attempting to serve an arrest warrant for a probation violation.
When the task force arrived at 5511 N.E. 139 Terrace, Williston, they detected a strong odor of marijuana inside the residence. Agent Rob Bowers obtained a search warrant and upon its execution discovered an indoor grow house.
Twenty-one marijuana plants and sodium grow lights were recovered from the residence. The marijuana weighed approximately nine pounds which is worth $ 21,000. This is the third indoor marijuana grow house in Levy County within two weeks.
Arrested were Frank James Taylor, 37, and Joel Richard Russell Miles, 31.
Both men were charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia.
Taylor was wanted in Broward County for a violation of probation warrant and also wanted in Marion County for a child support warrant.
