The Chiefland City Commission held its first Truth in Millage (TRIM) and proposed 2008-2009 budget hearing on September 9 and, well, no one was really interested.
No citizens came to the hearing.
But the commission, without absent Mayor Teal Pomeroy, went ahead and gave preliminary approval to the proposed 4.75 mills and a general budget of $3,018,766.18 for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1.
Pomeroy was not at the meeting due to a business commitment said Vice Mayor Teresa Barron.
