The Levy County Tourist Development Council (TDC) is looking for two tourism industry representatives who are county residents and electors (registered to vote) in the county to join the nine-member panel.

The board, by law, has one Levy County representative, representatives of its two largest municipalities, members who are owners or operators of a motel, hotel, RV park, or other tourist accommodation in the county and subject to the 2 percent tourism tax; three representatives of the tourist industry who are involved in the tourist industry and have demonstrated an interest in tourist development.

Applicants should be able to dedicate their time, attention and energy to attending all the TDC meetings every other month and any additional meetings called by the TDC members. The group usually does not meet more than seven times each year.

Because the tourism industry seats are the ones vacant, the person must be involved in the tourist industry and have demonstrated an interest in tourist development.

The terms of office are four years with starting dates staggered.

The TDC will review all applications and make their recommendation to the Levy County Board of County Commissioners for final appointment.

Applications are available in the Board of County Commissioners Office at the County Courthouse at 355 S. Court St., Bronson, and the Levy County Visitors Bureau at 620 N. Hathaway Ave., Bronson or can be requested via email to adminasst@VisitNatureCoast.com.
