Those crazy jumping sturgeon, what’s it all about?

The Friends of the Lower Suwannee & Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuges host Dr. Ken Sulak, U.S. Geological Survey at 5 p.m. Today at the Cedar Key Public Library for a talk on the Suwannee River's sturgeon.
The Suwannee River supports the largest population of the Gulf Sturgeon, a species unique to Gulf Coast rivers. The Gulf Sturgeon, a member of an ancient group of fish, and the largest fish — up to eight-feet long and 200 pounds — inhabiting the Suwannee River, signals the health of the ecosystem.
