Ramona Beauchamp was born and raised in the Chiefland area. She is a wife, mother and grandmother; she has worked in the business world for decades...and Ramona loves to cook! From buttermilk biscuits to her award-winning Red Velvet Cake, she enjoys cooking so much—it is a true labor of love for Ramona’s family and friends.
But it was not until two years ago that Ramona began concentrating effort on teaching those with loss how to cook for one, putting her own spin on delicious, easy to make healthy meals that add variety and hearty flavor to virtually anyone’s diet.
Ramona Beauchamp hosts the “Easy Cooking for One” workshop sponsored by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services. It is a cooking class for those who have experienced loss and part of the funeral home’s ongoing healing outreach called “Life Steps ... stepping forward ... remembering always…”
At “Easy Cooking for One,” Ramona shares tips for weight loss, lifestyle balance and weight management. For those who need salt-free diets, and of course those who do not want to lose weight at all, she gives great tips and suggestions as well. The goal is to “stay healthy.”
The Hiers-Baxley “Life Steps” workshops are offered free of charge and open to anyone affected by loss. “Easy Cooking for One” is the final class in the ongoing four-week series. Remaining workshops focus on Wellness, Home & Personal Safety & Finance. A new four-week series begins on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
The Life Steps Healing Outreach is held in the Fellowship Hall at the First United Methodist Church located at 707 N. Main St., Chiefland. The outreach is ongoing in Ocala and The Villages as well. Seating is limited, however, if you or someone you know would be interested in the complimentary Life Steps Workshops, contact Pam Leaptrot at 352-493-0050.
