SVP debuts original musical tonight

-A A +A

The Suwannee Valley Players are so pleased to be able to present its annual musical, Master of Time, which was written by a local writer, Krista Perryman. Not only is SVP honored to produce this play, it is privileged to have Perryman as the musical director and choreographer, while working closely with a SVP veteran director, Janice Grant. The large cast is made up of residents from all parts of our Tri-County area. SVP is proud of its accomplishments.

The players invite the public to take a walk through time to join the Inventor and the various characters he encounters as he travels through time visiting a myriad of Tony Award-winning musicals with songs "Kiss Me Kate," "Fiddler On The Roof," "Cinderella," "My Fair Lady" and other hugely popular musicals. During the Investor’s travels, his time machine matures and begins to take on characteristics of a human mentality and falls for the inventor. Throughout the inventor’s travels, he attempts to rescue characters he meets along the way. The inventor finds each of his travel mates a way back to their own time period as he brings the time machine back to its original state. As the cast bids farewell, they seek to remind the audience members that they can have anything they want if only one believes it’s possible.

All performances are at the Chief Theater, 25 E. Park Ave., Chiefland. The show runs through March 11. Friday and Saturday performances open at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are: $12 General Admissions / $10 Seniors over 65, Students (K-12), Military / $5 Youth.
