Fat Steer Weigh In

The fat steer weigh in will take place Saturday, Oct. 2, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the fairgrounds in Fanning Springs.  This is the first weigh-in for all market steers participating in the 2011 Suwannee River Youth Livestock Show and Sale.  An entry form is required and is available online at www.mysrf.org.  The form must be completed and signed by the exhibitor, parent and FFA advisor/4H leader.  Entry fee is $25.

Scholarship Application

It is time for qualified seniors to begin to complete their scholarship applications.  The Suwannee River Fair awards two $500 scholarships each year.  Scholarship application and rules are available online at www.mysrf.org.  Deadline for submission is Wednesday, March 2.  All entries must be postmarked; no hand delivery will be accepted.

New to the Suwannee River Fair

A new contest is being added to the fair this year: an Ag Management Contest.
This is an individual contest that combines skills from non-sale divisions along with other important agriculture knowledge.  Rules for the contest are online at www.mysrf.org.

Another new contest is the Program Cover Design Contest. This exciting new contest will allow participants to show their creative talents as they design a cover for the annual fair book. The winner’s design may be featured as the cover of the 2012 fair book.  Rules can be found online at www.mysrf.org under the Creative Life Skills Division (formerly Home Economics).
