Spring game nears for CHS football

After a week and a half of heavy hitting, Chiefland High football coach Ajay and his staff are beginning to fine-tune the Indians.

"We had a good scrimmage (last) Friday,"Ulmer said. "We'll be working on special teams. We have to get ready for a ball game. We're only a week awat from our game."

Chiefland will travel to Fort White on Friday night, May 23, for a FHSAA Spring Classic.

The Quarterback Club voted on officers in its May 6 meeting. Abraham Blitch remains as president. Lorin Brookins is the new vice president. Rob Alexander is treasurer and Becky Tyson is secretary.

The QB Club will have a fund-raising barbecue lunch on the day of the game –May 23. The cost is just $8 and they will be delivered. Home base is the First Baptist Church. The lunch features pulled pork, beans, slaw, roll and cake. Call Tyson at 493-6000 to get in your orders. Tickets are also being sold at numerous businesses around town.

The fund-raising golf scramble will be July 12 at Chiefland Golf & Country Club.

The QB Club will also have a presence at the Watermelon Festival.
