BRONSON - A 39-year-old Williston man was arrested for felonious child abuse on Dec. 22.
The victim and witness said Terence Bartges had been drinking most of the night before the deputy arrived at about 11:25 p.m., according to records.
The deputy reported seeing five small children walking in and out of the residence unattended. After locating Bartges asleep in the living room, the deputy clearly ascertained he was very intoxicated on alcohol, he reported. As the deputy escorted the man to the cruiser, Bartges yelled and screamed profanities at the deputy and the children, the deputy reported.
Bond was set at $35,000.
Any person accused of a crime in the United States is presumed innocent until he or she is proved guilty in court. Other people accused of crimes and arrested by the Levy County Sheriff's Office include the following:
* Karel P. Guerra, 35, of Miami was arrested Dec. 20 on warrants for two counts of cruelty to animals. Bond $30,000.
* Grady W. Collins, 24, of Cedar Key was arrested Dec. 21 for domestic battery. He was released on his own recognizance.
