BRONSON - A charge of attempted sexual battery was dropped against a 23-year-old Newberry man who remains in jail accused of robbing a bank, according to records.
Joshua Kane O'Hara was arrested Nov. 9 for attempted sexual battery when he surrendered himself to authorities at the Levy County Sheriff's Office in Bronson, according to records.
LCSO spokesman Lt. Evan Sullivan said the attempted rape charge was dropped due to a lack of cooperation from the alleged victim.
O'Hara remained in the Levy County Jail as of Dec. 5 on charges of robbery with a firearm and grand theft. Bond for those two charges was listed at $30,000. O'Hara is suspected of the July 19 armed robbery and grand theft from the Sunstate Federal Credit Union.
Officers with the Chiefland Police Department charged him with the bank robbery after he was in jail, although they were looking for him the same day he turned himself in.
