A tip that a Williston Elementary School custodian had guns in his vehicle parked on campus has led to the arrest of Dennis W. Solowski on Thursday, according to a Levy County Sheriff's Office press release.
Sheriff's school resource deputy Grant Sandlin received information, located Solowski's vehicle parked at the school and interviewed Solowski at the school.
Solowski verified guns were in his vehicle and a search by Sandlin recovered an AR-15-style rifle and a 30-30 lever-action rifle in the trunk, and a semi-automatic handgun under the front seat of the vehicle.
The Levy County School Board requires all employees to review and sign a no-weapons on campus policy as a requirement of employment. Solowski told Sandlin he knew he was not allowed to have weapons on school campus.
