Running to help families battling cancer

-A A +A

The 4th Annual Kicking Cancer's Butt Poker Run was Saturday, Sept. 28, starting in Chiefland and winding its way through Levy, Gilchrist and Dixie counties before making its final stop in Cedar Key.

The ride, which raises funds for grants and scholarships for families with children battling cancer, raised $2,200 from the one-day event.

It's also a great time put on by lots of hardworking volunteers and enjoyed by riders.

The group's next major fundraiser will be Swinging for the Cure in the spring at Chiefland Golf and Country Club.
