Tina Barrios, the mother of a hearing impaired child, said speeders on her stretch of Southeast 8th Terrace are making life dangerous for her child and other young ones who live on the block. Drivers who cut through from County Road 345 to Southeast 5th Avenue are violating the speed limit. She said signs have been erected noting a deaf child lives in the area and that police have responded to residents’ calls but the drivers are gone by the time officers arrive. “There are 20 kids that live in our area,” Barrios said.
