I can always expound at length on the troubles with community journalism.
But this morning was just one of those days when work was a pleasure.
When Thursday's paper hits the streets and mailboxes it will have photos of Chiefland High School students who not only kept up their studies in school, but also held down jobs.
They are enrolled in the school's CDE program that gives students an opportunity to learn work skills and gain a measure of professionalism.
Every year business people take a chance on the students who apply for jobs. While I am sure the road has a few detours along the way, all would agree it turns out for the best for their business, for them and the student workers.
And that's a real pleasure to see and know. Look for the photos this week and when you come across the students or patronize the business that employed them, commend them.
It's what makes our community and country strong. And it will make your day too.
Lou
