Levy's 18th traffic fatality

Brian Douglas Larkins, 31, of Williston died Friday Oct. 18, shortly before 8:30 p.m. while walking in the northbound lane of Northeast 105th Avenue at Northeast 86th Street, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

He is the second pedestrian fatality and the 18th traffic fatality for Levy County in 2013.

Jacob Brock Morrison, 18, of Trenton was driving a2005 Chevy Silverado pickup in the northbound lane on Northeast 105th Avenue, just north of Northeast 86th Street when the truck collided with the pedestrian.

Morrison immediately made a u-turn before coming to a stop on the west shoulder, according to the report by FHP Cpl. Thomas Dillon. Neither Morrison nor his passenger, Joshua Frazier, 17, of Bronson, were injured. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.

Larkins was pronounced deceased at scene by Levy County Paramedic Nicholas Ritter.

Dillon write in his report that it was dark at the time of the accident, the street was not lighted, and Morrison voluntarily provided a voluntary blood sample for testing.
