Even though qualifying for county and district political offices doesn't begin until June, already many candidates are out stumping for votes.
The Chiefland Citizen wants to ensure that all candidates are treated equally during the months ahead.
Following are a few notes worth mentioning as we launch into what promises to be a full depiction of the American electoral process.
1. Candidates for political office will be allowed a free announcement of candidacy. These announcements must be written by one of our writers following either an in-person or telephone interview. No announcements will be accepted from the candidates. This will ensure that all candidates get an equal amount of space in this newspaper.
2. The Chiefland Citizen will run a photograph with these announcements. If you do not have a photograph, we will take one for you. All photos will run one column wide.
3. Announcements will run on pages 2 or 3 and will be displayed in the order in which they are received. Deadline for candidate announcements will be Monday at noon.
