The Suwannee Valley Rotary Club, which was chartered three weeks ago, held its first club meeting July 7 at BubbaQue's in Chiefland. Thirty members, prospective members and guests turned out for the organizational meeting. Brookins opened the meeting saying the group's mission "is about involvement. This is about involvement with everybody." The group will officially receive its charter from former Rotary District Governor Sylvia White during a September social gathering.
