It's been a long time coming for Bronson to have its own barbecue house.
In the brand new BubbaQue's, not only does Bronson have barbecue, but BBQ with a theme and attitude.
The brainstorm of locals Ryan Bell and Chris DeVeau and out-of-towners Ziad Kazbour and Dave Midgett, BubbaQue's offers exquisite ribs, pulled pork, chicken, wings and other Southern goodies, but the "It's the Pits' redneck theme is refreshing, relaxed and just plain fun.
Owning several Hungry Howie's in the area, Bell has been locked into the franchise train of thought.
BubbaQue's allows the 33-year-old of Chiefland to use his own, catchy ideas.
For instance, the tables at BubbaQue's feature actual truck tailgates as seats on one side and giant coolers on the other.
"It's like a tail gate party,"Bell said. "We want people to kick back and enjoy themselves with good barbecue and a cold drink."
On the drinks menu are tea, sodas and domestic and imported beer.
"Barbecue goes great with a beer," DeVeau said.
